Rhodesian Ridgeback has a hallmark ridge, or stripe of backward-growing hair, on his back. This medium/large dog is native of Africa, formerly referred to as the African Lion Hound. This hound is fast and athletic. Ridgbacks need very consistent training from puppyhood. They are loyal and protective.
